Well....we survived our first shot tonight. I could tell Andrew was anxiously awaiting to give it to me. I don't know if that is a good thing or a bad thing that he was so eager to poke me with a needle. It was pretty funny. I was laying on the couch watching one of my TV shows and it was nearing 10:00pm (we decided to do shots at 10:00pm...you HAVE to do them at the same time every night with only a half hour window on each side). My show was almost over and I could hear him rummaging in the kitchen for something. I figured out that he was getting the syringe and serum ready. He stood there waiting...and waiting...and waiting for my show to be over. I looked over at him and started laughing because I was expecting him to be standing there squirting the serum up into the air like you see on corny TV shows. Then he pretended to go "Dexter style" and sneak up on me in the living room and inject it in my neck while saying "REER REER REER". He sure knows how to calm my nerves before my first shot, huh?
Finally my TV show was over.........
I don't know who was more nervous...me or him. Actually, it was really fast and not too bad. I chose to do the shot in my stomach, but now I have a really itchy belly so I may need to try somewhere else tomorrow. So....we survived our first night of shots! One down...only 66 (or more if we get preggo) to go!!!!

Sara, I suggest you do it in your thighs, and alternate legs every day. That's where we give shots in kids at work, because there is more fat and muscle there, so it doesn't ache so much. Plus, you tend to use your legs a bunch, and the more you use them the sooner the area injected will feel better. Just thought I'd share that. :)

P.S. I've really enjoyed reading your story. It's amazing that you have the courage to share.
